MEPs call on fossil gas exclusion from the Recovery and Resilience Facility
Brussels, 30 October 2020 – In an open letter, several MEPs, including Francisco Guerreiro (Greens/EFA), called on fossil gas exclusion from the Recovery and Resilience Facility.
Arguing that the EP voted in favour of an emission reduction target of 60% by 2030 and that the European Union “Next Generation EU” budget will together total more than 1.8 trillion euros in public investment, MEPs declare that it is an opportunity to reorient the EU's economic model towards carbon neutrality and full employment.
