Ukraine: MEPs mark 90th anniversary of Holodomor

Brussels, December 6, 2022 - Francisco Guerreiro MEP along with several colleagues have signed a joint declaration that seeks to identify the Holodomor as a genocide of the Ukrainian people and calls for its full historical and legal assessment.

In this declaration they stress that it is important to remember not only the victims of the Holodomor, but also the lessons learned, so that similar crimes are not repeated in the future. The statement also focuses on Russia's ongoing war of aggression against Ukraine and calls on EU member states and the international community to intensify and accelerate their efforts and provide Ukraine with the necessary financial, humanitarian and military assistance, in particular the requested military equipment.
