School meals of fruit, vegetables, milk and dairy products

Strasbourg, May 9, 2023 - In line with my political group, Greens/EFA, I argue that this scheme should be inclusive and give schools the option of being able to use European funds to also finance alternatives to milk of animal origin. This is why I supported the amendment proposed by my group, which aimed to include the possibility of funding plant-based alternatives in the schemes - the proposal was not accepted by the other political groups.

My unfavorable vote is therefore justified by the discrimination promoted by this scheme, which excludes children and adolescents who do not consume cow's milk, either for ethical reasons, because of allergies or because they simply don't like the product.
