Restoring nature law

Strasbourg, July 11, 2023 - This law is crucial to improving nature in Europe, which is in poor condition. Nature is the key to mitigating and combating the effects of climate change, which contributes to preventing droughts, fires and floods. Nature is essential for long-term food security, as well as for farmers' livelihoods.
The EPP political group has risked our collective future with its misinformation election campaign, based on lies and scaremongering, against the Green Deal, which is aimed at favoring the far right. Despite the EPP's aggressive and unprecedented campaign against the Green Deal, many leaders of the same group nevertheless voted in favor of the law in the Council.
I voted, of course, in favor of the Nature Restoration Act.
