Reducing inequalities and promoting social inclusion in times of crisis for children and their Families
I voted in favor of this report, which tries to contribute to reducing inequalities and promoting social inclusion. In 2022, more than 24.7% of children were at risk of poverty in the EU. Child poverty has been on the rise for the last 4 years. Only 19 Member States have set concrete targets for reducing child poverty by 2030. Evidence shows that child poverty is closely linked to family poverty, income inequality and difficult access to public services. We call for the total eradication of child poverty in the EU by 2030. Member States must be more ambitious in their eradication targets and quickly adopt plans to improve social rights and protection.
