Plenary Session: Economic policies of the euro area 2020
Economic policies of the euro area 2020 (A9-0193/2020 - Joachim Schuster)
I voted against this report because, even though it broadens the spectrum of the European Semester process to include more social and environmental objectives, it did not have the necessary ambition to support the strongest change that the European Commission had presented in the latest Annual Growth Assessments. In these Assessments, the EC already set these progressive goals at the same level as the traditional objectives of economic and fiscal policy, but in this report this has ceased to happen so that, with our vote, it was totally rejected, which led the ECON Committee's resolutions on the Semester not to be supported.
