Objection under Article 111(2), (3) and (4)(c): Maximum residue limits for fipronil

Fipronil is highly toxic to bees, dangerous to aquatic organisms and poses risks to human health. The maximum residue limits for fipronil should therefore be maintained at the current level of determination. It would be irresponsible to increase them for imports of sugar cane and various meats, as has been proposed. 
I voted in favor of this objection.
