Greens/EFA welcomes four Italian MEPs
Brussels, 9 December 2020 - Today, four Italian MEPs - Rosa D'Amato, Ignazio Corrao, Eleonora Evi and Piernicola Pedicini - joined the Greens/European Free Alliance (Greens/EFA) Group by unanimous acclamation. The Greens/EFA group now has 73 members.
“I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with some of these MEPs, namely Eleonora Evi concerning animal welfare issues, and I welcome them to our group with great pleasure," says Francisco Guerreiro.
The new Greens/EFA MEPs expressed that they are “happy to bring the Mediterranean experience and the Italian perspective to the group. On the environment, climate, biodiversity, social rights, animal welfare and agricultural policy we have been working together for years and now we are pleased to fight these battles together".
"We hope that today will help spur on the Green Wave in Italy that we have seen in other parts of Europe,” comments Philippe Lamberts, President of the Greens/EFA group in the European Parliament.
