Francisco Guerreiro calls on North Macedonia to adopt law against discrimination

Lisbon, 4 September 2020 – The Greens/EFA MEP Francisco Guerreiro joined the request of four European Parliament intergroups, including the Intergroup on LGBTI Rights, to draw attention to the consequences of the recent repeal of the Law on Prevention of and Protection against Discrimination in North Macedonia.

“The repealing of this legislation has meant that North Macedonia currently does not provide sufficient protection from discrimination for all its citizens“, the signatories wrote.

The MEPs also requested the country to quickly adopt a law against discrimination.
