EU school scheme - fruit, vegetables and milk - Francisco Guerreiro MEP votes against report

Brussels, March 22, 2023 - On Wednesday, Francisco Guerreiro MEP voted against the report “EU school scheme - fruit, vegetables and milk”, presented in the Agriculture Committee.
“My negative vote reflects concerns about this long-standing subsidy that blindly promotes the consumption of cow's milk among children. My final vote in plenary will depend on the inclusion of plant-based alternatives that offer a CHOICE to children,” she said on her social networks. 
“Allergies, ethical concerns and simply not liking milk are the main reasons why we need to give children alternative options,” says the MEP. 
The final vote on the report will take place at a forthcoming plenary session, on a date to be decided.
