Plenary Session: Temporary measures concerning the general meetings of European companies (SE) and of European Cooperative Societies (SCE)
Temporary measures concerning the general meetings of European companies (SE) and of European Cooperative Societies (SCE)
I voted in favour of this legislative resolution that gives EP consent to these Council regulations.
Just 3 weeks ago, the European Commission presented this proposal to amend the regulations on the statutes of European companies and cooperatives. These regulations required them to have a General Assembly at least once a year, at the latest up to 6 months after the end of the financial year, and there was no derogation or exception.
Due to the difficulty that these companies and cooperatives face with the various lockdowns in Member States, this proposal offers a temporary and exceptional derogation, allowing the General Assemblies to be held up to one year later, and at the latest by December 31, 2020.
This very quick procedure was necessary because companies and cooperatives would default in late June.
