Plenary Session: Parliament's estimates of revenue and expenditure for the financial year 2021
Parliament's estimates of revenue and expenditure for the financial year 2021 (A9-0102/2020 - Olivier Chastel)
I voted, along with the Group of the Greens, in favour of this resolution.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the EP Secretary-General has proposed an increase value higher than inflation, in the three EP host countries, for the budget for 2021 (2.49%). The main political groups, the Bureau and the Committee on Budgets agreed on this figure taking into account the need for possible adjustments to ensure resilience in the event of future health crises.
This budget also has important parts that reinforce the funds of the EMAS (EP's Eco-Management and Audit System), CO2 reduction, and transparency in the management of the deputies' general expenses account.
It is a budget in the right direction, with less energy and resource consumption and more transparency.
